Are you sensitive?

I don't think I'm really sensitive at all to any of the things I listed. Wish I was more, it can be hard to read yourself when your reactions are muted

I think sometimes I 'allow' myself to reactive and easily frustrated and ready blow up on the internet though for some reason. Not really here though. But on other forums and when I played video games. But that's only when I feel like wallowing, it's very easy to not care in those instances too

But I have romantic magical thoughts about art and beauty and the human spirit however. The soul of an artist. Just don't actually get that emotional that often

My therapist from the Bristol years helped me see the obvious—that depression is for me preferable to anxiety, that depression can in fact form a defence against anxiety.

I can't watch scenes in films/TV where people are getting embarrassed/shamed or whatever. I mean, I can watch them but if I've seen the thing before I will often fast forward these things.
Totally ot, where did you live in Bristol and how long were you there for? I’m guessing you weren’t south of the river; knowle, bemmy, hengrove et al

How do you think being sensitive played into working in a prison?

I mean, I'm assuming you're far from conflict adverse but on the other hand you have to be quite sensitive to anticipate issues arising...
Sensitivity as described by the op has no place in jail. I could/would empathize. But never sympathize.

The sensitivity you describe in the question is essential. It takes time, for anyone wearing the uniform to develop. All inmates lie, & most are lying all of the time. It’s only through experience that you learn the nuances, are able to pick up the visual cues & Vibes.

After seeing the video of Rae explaining the context of the gathering and sort of knowing Steve’s mo, I think he got off easy.

Just an FYI, Rikers Island is a jail, not a prison. They are commonly used interchangeably. Jail is where people who are awaiting trial/adjudication but are being held for a myriad of reasons (remanded, flight risk). We also housed people whose sentence was 1year or less. Prison is where you go when sentenced.

Wow I actually never know there was a difference between jail and prison...

Honestly, nothing. Idk the context, but the moment you put your hand on the scruff of someone's neck like they're your sonny-boy, an apology isn't imminent, but a broken arm is.
Having said that, Steve O is notorious troll & it might have been restraint on Reakwon's part.
Don’t know the context

I was only asking @Corpsey how he felt about it because I knew he'd hate it. It wasn't a general question.

Freedom seems to require living, part of the time, in private. Sensitivity means a few different things: How easily your emotions are rocked by the constant wavevibrations life sends your way. And how perceptive/responsive you are to the sensory waves you're bathing in.

These are similar meanings in meaningful ways and distinct in others
