did want to like the joker song and its decent enough for what it is, but it is still really generic. like joker doing a bad la roux rework. doesnt even really sound much like joker tbh, its like hes got rid of the harder/funkier edges to what he does to make it more radio 1 friendly. and the let me breathe hook just sounds like too similar to magnetic man's i need air.

re: joker,

i'm guessing the tougher beats are gonna be for the grime tunes. i like the tune it's a good summertime anthem gonna play it this weekend to a downtown rooftop of a couple hundred people, positive it's gonna go off! ; )

it does seem like a relatively unmined tempo region, >140 / <160

would be very interested if other dubsteppers start picking it up.

i welcome them making it harder for djs to mix stuff. more fun. the pinch thing sounds like old broken d&b-meets-tribal dmz-style dubstep.

that is the best thing about 150bpm - it's still unexplored tempo range if you don't count hardcore / early jungle. and even in those styles the transition from 140 to 160 happened quickly.

gumdrops, yeah, tempo barriers are frustrating.
