Someone said that the guitar makes Outdoor Life sound like New Order, which is totally fine with me. A reviewer called the flip, Crosstrainers, "luvstep" - I guess that means the opposite of "brostep"?

Just got some tasty beyerdynamic heaphones and am minus a girlfriend so have the hours to put in on some music again finally. At the moment Im polishing up a load of stuff from a year or 2 back, heres the first fruit of that. Going to take a run up to my mates in liverpool soon and get some proper studio time in, i think im on a bit of a roll

Really want to get back into production soon. I need a midi keyboard, though, programming melodies with a mouse is just not spontaneous enough.

Also must stop wishing I could make music that I could never make lol

The embedding isn't working for whatever reason so I had to click the link. Worth it tho - some nice Basic Channel-type dub techno stuff going on there.

Not Me - 2011 12s

Seems like a good time to mention this new project that I'm at the very early stages of.

The project is going to be called 2011 12s and it's going to replace my previous 10-20 2010 project (http://csaf-records.com/10-20-2010/). It'll be a series of five free high-quality MP3 downloads formatted as 'virtual 12" singles'. The 'A-side' of each release will feature a new track by my Not Me project. The 'B-side' of each will feature one or more third-party remixes of the same track.

Not Me is, very broadly, my "beats" project, encompassing elements of minimal techno, dubstep, hip-hop and glitch.To get an idea of what it sounds like, take a listen to these MP3s of rough mixes:

That remix project sounds interesting - I'll have a look at that now.

When the whole future-garage thing gets really techy, I guess it turns into funky techno? That's pretty much what happened here:


Also, that stuff that Aww Nein put up in seriously different-sounding stuff. It kind of confuses me, tbh, but I can see some of the more adventurous types digging it.
