have you been peeking at his teamsheet? he's left cambiasso, zanetti and milito out, which is possibly the most mental selection i have ever heard of. Next Messi won't make the final 23. Surely the public in Argentina are incensed?

yeah i know he has, it's mental - cambiasso is one of the best in the world. no gago either right? so he's solely relying on mascherano for defensive midfield?

i don't think Maradona recognises the term 'defensive midfield'. He really is quite mad. By 'quite', of course, I mean 'utterly fucking'.

How many other players have (most likely) won the CL and then been left out of their country's World Cup squad the same year? Just beggars belief, as they could've won the bloody thing, imo.

Cool, United are my Scottish team. Went to Hampden the last time they were in the Cup final (they lost to Celtic :()

Was that not one of the weirdest FA Cup finals ever? Chelsea hitting the woodowork five (I think) times in the first half alone, Kalou producing one of the great Cup final misses and then two missed penalties. And I still found it to be a fairly boring game, oddly enough. The pitch seemed fine to me but apparently Terry was complaining about it afterwards

I didn't watch it, cos I was expecting an absolute one sided monstering. Which, to be fair, could well have happened in the first half.

Just about got over my Hamburg experience on wednesday. Definitely the happiest day I've had as a Fulham fan, and one of the most disappointing. We were good value for the draw as we had them largely in our pocket for most of the game. Duff and Zamora's fitness certainly hindered us, with them at 100%, could've been a different story. Real shame that 2 individuals won the tournament rather than the best team. Also Atletico only won 3 games in Europe all year, we won 12 - so justice wasn't done on the day.

Mannini
Banguora
Messi (the Xavi pass one)
in that order. Mannini's wasn't the best technically, but there's something so aesthetically satisfying about w\tching a team score from a keepy-uppy.

Jutkiewicz deserves a special prize for being the last in a 12-goal thriller.

can anyone remember a managerial sacking being more unpopular than benitez going this week?

any guesses who will be his replacement?

Yeah, tons. I'm glad he's gone. The team clearly weren't playing for him and are about to lose their two best players. It's damage limitation til those Yank cunts are gone and Roy Hodgson is the man to make mountains from molehills.
