For sure! or, failing that... all the same! LOL

192 & above is cool as far as I'm concerned. I don't expect em to be on a par with juno/beatport - economies of scale & all that still apply, to an extent, in the ecommerce world, but I'm not really about payin for 160s with 'encodeing settings - Logic 7.2.3' in the tags.

Its such a mixed bag buyin mp3s from indies, one well known Club label sells 192 vinyl rips from its site, often with peaks around -6db, or lower. I've had tunes with the left side half the volume of the right etc.etc.

I'll keep buyin em tho... but I'm not one to suffer in silence! :D

See, I know its hard, or next to impossible now, for labels to sign up to beatport. But with Roska & Tribal Audio on Juno it can't be that hard can it? I understand there is some resistance to the legit download thing, cos of the perception it'll make it easier for people to fileshare your stuff, but, anything with any kind of intrest gets ripped from 12" quick smart anyway. The idea that it being on 12" makes it harder for kids to share is abit daft I think, but, I can see the attraction of having your own site with paypal P goin direct to you. Still, gotta be easier dealing with Juno than dealing with me... maybe not.

the more tracks there are in one place from different labels, the more people you're likely to have buying your stuff.

This is very true. Juno gotta have stats as to how many tunes they sell via 'people who bought this also bought' links, be interesting reading for label guys.

Big up for that link doom.

Liked the video interview with Martin Larner and Marcus Nasty saying how it's bassline in one room and funky in the other for their events for next year's summer season. Hopefully will focus the best producers to produce these styles over the next twelve months.

Ghosts of my life
Kodes played 30 mins-ish of funky at the start of his DMZ set last night. Sounded great - I think it took the crowd a few minutes to get their heads round it but everyone got grooving after a while...and you could hear the funky/bongo influence in the dubstep he played later on...that 'Bad' tune him and LD have done is, well, bad!

just spent hours downloading that mak 10 and marcus set before the rinse server decided it wasn't having any of it and cancelled it on me. they really need to sort out their bandwith.

I have almost all of it, 20 odd minutes to go.
Seriously, just up your files to sharebee rinse. They never go away and you still get a DL count. fuck's sake.

UK funky remix of MAW - Work.

whodathunkit?

It does seem to be the rhythmic template for most of these UK productions!

This is the first set in which I've heard so many of them back to back. The sound of UK Funky is starting to take shape.

I just love the enthusiasm of the DJ's:

''If you dont like it it's gonna grow on you!''

''I dont even know what music this is,I just know it's messy!''

Thanks to datura for uploading!

Absolutely fucking monstrous set.

(Oh and thanks to whoever upped the similar set from 2007, got it, haven't played it yet! Can't wait!)

Funky by grime people is FUCKING BANG ON IT. Right Dan!

Now I want some social circles vibes mixed in...

Who else is producing mixes of funky / dubstep vibes? Obvious that kode would lead the way!

That marcus and mak set is pretty good, though there's not enough of the really interesting stuff to make up a full set yet it seems. that broken donnaeo track was well cool though.
