anyone had a go at pickling things themselves? i'm keen to try. i like pickled things a lot. i like red cabbage, onions, gherkins, eggs, pretty much anything really.
if no one else has tried this i will conduct the experiemtns myself and report back.

watch that you don't eat some strange uncatalogued fungus and go (even more) mad or kill yourself. THE FUTURE OF EXPERIMENTAL LITERATURE MUST BE PROTECTED.

yeah i was just reading about it and now i am terrified of contracting botulism.
maybe i'll leave this alone.

A good quick one is to pickle chillies in salt - chop em up, discard seeds and put em in a jar with loads of salt. You can add it to loads of chinese dishes or just as a condiment.

i saw some unpickled gherkins for sale the other day but i didn't have any money so i didn't buy them.... this home pickling thing is still on the agenda though.....

turns out they eat gherkin soup in Poland. might be alright. im anti-soup though, i dont agree with it.
