=============================================

When the mood takes us we're pretty keen on blowing our own trumpets at FACT, and that never applies more than when we're putting on a night.

Our recent parties at the Lock Tavern, featuring the likes of Brackles, Gemmy, Heatwave, Factory Floor, Joe Goddard and the Greco-Roman Crew and more, have been killer, and our May rave at Cargo with Geeneus, Wookie, Alexander Nut, Various Production and Brackles was one for the ages, with Cargo at full capacity and a queue round the corner (check the pictures here: http://www.factmagazine.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2474&Itemid=102). So if you missed those, best you get yerself down to our next one. As ever, it's free entry.

Headlining proceedings on Sunday, June 7, at the picturesque Lock Tavern on Chalk Farm Road, will be none other than Cooly G. At the start of the year we said this UK house heroine would be the one to watch this year, and she's proved us right - her self-released Dub Organizer Vol 1 EP is already a bit of a classic, and this week she has three new releases out - Dub Organizer Vol 2 and 3, and her debut 12" for Hyperdub, 'Narst'/'Love Dub'. The latter was a Guardian single of the week before it was even released, and live Cooly's meticulous, super-kinetic sets take in everything from DJ Gregory to Sami Sanchez to Martin Kemp to Dennis Ferrer. Everyone from Marcus Nasty to Kode 9 is all over this girl, and we're stoked to have her headline.

You should know Ben UFO by now; he's one of the co-owners of Hessle Audio, one of the most forward-thinking, fast-moving dance music labels in the world (they put out two of our top forty tracks of 2008 in Pangaea's 'Router' and Martyn's remix of TRG's 'Broken Heart', and have already put out two of the singles of this year in Joe's 'Rut'/'Grimelight' and Untold's 'Anaconda'/'Can't Stop This Feeling'). He's one of the best DJs from any scene or country: his FACT mix - one of the four or five most popular we've ever had - still gets regular play in our office, and his recent Fabric promo mix is such a stonker it's unreal. We're psyched to have him play, and did we mention it's a 90 minute set? Shit's about to get serious.

Supporting is Sbtrkt - a young producer extraordinaire loved by Sinden (who's booked him for his next Get Familiar night at Fabric), Mary Anne Hobbs, Alexander Nut and Blackdown, whose tracks range from deep dubstep to rolling garage to hands-in-the-air bliss-house to bolshy jungle bootlegs. He's currently on board XL's Salvia imprint, providing remixes for Jack Penate, Peaches and Franz Ferdinand, and he's got future 12"s on the way for Brainmath and other labels we probably can't mention. He'll be playing live, and he will smash it. Watch out for a future FACT mix from this dude too.

Then there's Chesca. Born in Italy, Chesca cut her teeth in LA alongside Stones Throw boogie ambassador Dam Funk, and currently lives in London, where she throws the amazing Nuts to Soup parties and shots mixtapes - the Chesca Instrumentals and Chesca's System series are essential for anyone interested in bottom-heavy funk and disco. Her sets take in everything from LA 80s soul, to 77 Philly disco, to Theo Parrish, to Marvin Gaye, all chopped and boosted in her trademark style.

Oh, and you'll have your trusted FACT DJs playing everything from Paul Ritch to Dark Knight via Zomby and Dizzee. There should be a couple more names announced in the rundown to this event, but in the meantime get Cooly G's FACT mix on repeat and mark Sunday, June 7 in your diary - because the Lock Tavern will be jumping, and just as importantly, it'll be free.

glad you enjoyed it. definitely the most stressful one we've organised, but i think it went pretty well in the end. i really enjoyed all four sets.

it's every two months right now:

first one was patchwork pirates, heatwave, factory floor, brackles. second was greco-roman crew (joe goddard, full nelson, t.e.e.d.) and gemmy, then this was the third.

and we did one at cargo with geeneus, wookie, brackles, various productions and alex nut. hopefully gonna be a sequel to that soon...
