yeah, with stush over the top?? i think it was anyway. what is this called, where did it come from, where can i hear it again etc etc

Yeah, that one. I think he should have wheeled it a few more times. Oneman did the Next Hype/Oddz Mash Up so I guess he did this one as well. Does anybody know him to ask about it?

I will have a go Barebones. Send him a myspace message about it as well and hopefully he will get it out there.

on it. and while we're at it, you don't happen to know what's going on with the hardhouse banton tune that samples the vocals from alena 'turn it around' do you? i myspaced him about it aaaages ago and he said he was having trouble clearing the sample, but if he couldn't get it cleared he was just gonna put it out there as a free mp3. he promised to send it to me but i haven't heard from since and he didn't respond to the message i sent him about it a few months back. another lost gem.

Yeah I'm more than happy to take it off your hands Gabriel, much appreciated.

Anyone want to give me a bit of advice on this tune? Some people reckon I need to strip the vocal back, add more to the underlying; some people the exact opposite. Getting mixed down then passed about at the weekend so the link won't be there for long.

Might make two versions I dunno.

hmm, probably....

how come?

i often wonder about this. the main reason i started djing was to introduce people to tunes i loved. i can understand not giving out tunes or tracklists from a career/financial point of view (it means people have to book you to hear those tunes) but in every other way it seems kind of wrong

like this, it's stush's tune (and hh banton's) not mine, so it's not for me to keep hold of, right?

I agree with that. Share the wealth.

Thanks!!! It sounded so good last night on that system.

Do not read this.
Nah, i mean fair play to you, i see it from two sides..

from your side, as you mentioned, neither are you're tune, and to share the wealth (lets face it, it is a banger) you dont mind giving it out, which is refreshing as people are quick to jump on dubplate culture nowdays (even to the point of stopping playing something because it comes off dubplate, never heard something so fucking stupid in my life)

But from the other hand, I can see why the whole ''ive got this, you havent'' thing is so strong, and that is mostly (what i think) it boils down to, ive got this, you havent. which is cool because it makes people want it more when they hear it...

im prolly just chatting fraff anyway, i just liked that tune

thanks gabriel, this is so wicked.

also really feeling this new tune slackk. wasn't too sure about the tweet vocal to begin with, thought it would be better as an instrumental, but it grew on me over the course of the track.

yeah it's true, it is powerful. this is something i've always struggled with though, the idea of deliberately restricting access to something that's brilliant, in order to... what? make it more brilliant? i can't really get my head round it lol

I personally feel you should continue to give away as many tunes as possible, especially ones I wouldn't normally have please Gabriel ;)

I do have a few tunes I don't want people to have, like Zen On by Paper Boi, I'll never pass that on christ. But yeah, most of the time I prefer the idea of tunes just getting battered about. Most tunes can be found with a tracklist and google anyway

Ta, I will come to check out the Yo Yo one. Not been there for a while.

I will try and come to the Big Chill one as well. I used to know Brad from The Nextmen when I lived in Cambridge, I haven't seen him for years.

Instinctively I would very much agree with you on this. But it's something that is or has been done by so many figures that I really respect that I sort of feel there must be something to it, like you I really can't figure out what though  . It adds a mystique to certain tunes I suppose. But is mystique a healthy thing in the long run? I would say possibly not.
Anyway, ramblings aside, the Sirens vocal is great, thanks for sharing. :D
