On balance of play, absolutely, but the right result for the tournament would've been a 2-1 win in the 90th/92nd/whenever it was. It's going to be crap if no African teams get through the first round.

problem is the two best sides there are ghana and the ivorians, and they've got the toughest groups. put ghana in instead of nigeria and you've got a decent chance there.
also, world cup on african soil is cool. but berlin is as close to lagos as johannesburg

one for the purists. from a 17 point of view arévalo played well. uruguay won't be too upset, but after the sending off they were impotent and could have been there for the kill but france were dreadful. anelka trying to dribble through three central defenders was laughable.
domenech's subs were frankly awful. forlan deserved to score that chance.
