yeah there are two kind of hardcore breaks, the rigid nuskool breaks-like, and the more or less authentic sounding oldskool hardcore-like.

check this:
incredible...

I love old hardcore at 150, I think that gives me all that I want sometimes,
great breaks, samples, optimistic synths & rude bass - it has such an energy & optimism

I would like to see what modern producers could do at 150, that Pinch thing is pretty cool

did anyone hear about the supposed (&failed?) conference that Dillinja & lemon D held in a pub to try to get Drum and bass producers to slow down the bpm to near 150? clearly no one listened but it drum and bass would have been so much better in the last 10 years if they had

don't think they wanted to even get it that slow, but back down to 160-170.

it was about 8ish years ago? when everything was built at 175, then pitched up to +8. it was fucking dumb and why i started to not listen/dj dnb anymore. not much has changed though.

anyway..

i don't wanna start argument whether it's happy hardcore or not (this is dubstep thread), but i think those trancey synths are great. brings some variation for the usual stabs/pianos.
