Oh this almost ties perfectly in with what I just said in the "what are you reading thread" although actually the ambiguity exists in both languages (when written) come to think of it. Do you mean she's cunningly mapped a path through rhetoric, or do you mean that she has comprehensively chased it off the field?I think this "liberatory lip-service" question is part of what makes Andrea Long Chu so compelling, that she's willing to stand outside of the conventions of the genre in some kind of symbolic way, and through a savvy routing of rhetoric hasn't been crushed for it yet.
I think she's pushed it back—it's unclear if it'll stay off the field but she came out strong enough that it's going to need to perform a rearguard action.Oh this almost ties perfectly in with what I just said in the "what are you reading thread" although actually the ambiguity exists in both languages (when written) come to think of it. My question was simpler than that... literally, what is the word "routing" here is it from the word route or from the word rout?I think she's pushed it back—it's unclear if it'll stay off the field but she came out strong enough that it's going to need to perform a rearguard action.
