Tiqqun's Theory of a Young Girl is all about how the young girl exists/circulates as commodity. Gevinson and Helena both trade their fashion blogging for political activism. But they're still stuck in their own images, influencing a consumer base (of fellow young girls, who imitate their look & behaviors), and even as they're radicalized, the only thing that changes in practice is the content of their Instagram feed. Even Helena's revolutionary anti-capitalist anti-fashion becomes a global trend. There's no escaping the matrix of images, etc.
