The more statistics they introduce, the more options they have to maintain the fear when the weather otherwise isn't playing ball. Now newspapers pick the scariest of: the temperature in two weeks (which was meant to be 35 or so today), sea temperature, land temperature, wherever is hottest somewhere else, any of the previous stats but about dryness/wetness/hailstoneyness or finally, if they are really lucky, a UK temperature that has actually happened...the two 40 degree days from last year are no longer valid as news.

At least it's the beach. Went out last night in town in Seville and was amazed at the amount of tourists - it was all really quiet and then they all suddenly emerged out of the hotels at 10pm to eat, must have been holed up all day in their rooms with the aircon on all day till then. What kind of a holiday is that? You'd have to be really dumb to come here in July.

Ah well, sounds good as long there's a pool. Just get smashed during the morning, massive siesta all afternoon, then stay up all night enjoying the mountain breeze. Wish I was there tbh
