You don't want choppy waves you don't want stagnation, a good environment gives you new things keeps it "fresh" but isn't overbearing

I read that trouts in a river position themselves where boulders block flow. So it's very calm they don't have to swim hard at all. But the stream around them is running quick even quicker than normal, so that bugs and tasty snacks come downstream at a faster rate.

IDK why but I thought of Dissensus

Today I saw the lipstick stained white apple blossoms fall while the bumblebees attended to the remains, amd all I saw was eclipse. It was the prettiest moment of spring and all I thought was death.

is this correct @DLaurent? not so in my limited trout experience, but they do stay tend to in the same spot, i dunno if they are territorial or care about boulders though

I always thought they must have an interesting view of life, the trout in the stream, life constantly coming at you with bugs and snacks but if you stop pedalling against the flow you will be washed away, ultimately you would end up in the sea but trout are not salmon or eels they are either fresh or salt as far as i undertsnad not both.

also disappointed to know that heraclitus of the wise words about the river also said about the inevitability of war: "Πόλεμος πάντων μὲν πατήρ ἐστι πάντων δὲ βασιλεύς, καὶ τοὺς μὲν θεοὺς ἔδειξε τοὺς δὲ ἀνθρώπους, τοὺς μὲν δούλους ἐποίησε τοὺς δὲ ἐλευθέρους." = "War is the father and king of all: some he has made gods, and some men; some slaves and some free" so he was a bit of a warmonger bon mot originator, i wonder did he do anything or just come up with dinky memes?

blimey Heraclitus of Ephesus (Ἡράκλειτος, Herakleitos; c. 535 BC475 BC) was a Greek philosopher, known for his doctrine of change being central to the universe, and for establishing the term Logos (λόγος) in Western philosophy as meaning both the source and fundamental order of the Cosmos.

he invented logos so bon mot originator is exactly correct

an ur-dissensus guy basically

Yes that's exactly it.

I hear they keep their spots for years too. There must be some territoriality since there must be better or worse spots. I guess I'd heard that slow water next to fast water is a good place. That's what they said on a fly fishing podcast

but also that they can see the future washing towards them but the past is out of sight behind them.
i think some languages (Madagascar/malagasy comes to my mind) characterise time and experience this way, but kind of opposite to ours

... the alternative is like falling backwards into your destiny, plummeting into the unknown with all our past laid out in front of us, our biography, all history, the lot, like the wide open sky as you reach for your ripcord, fumbling, hoping you will find it before you hit the floor

Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
Reminds me of the time someone on drugs-forum.com (who as far as I could tell was not joking/trolling) said "I'm thinking of scuba diving while high on DMT, what do you guys think?"
