    Unreleased Burial tune

Isn't this just ripped from the Kode9 album promo mix? Loads of still unreleased stuff on that mix.

    Wedding request

There is this bossa nova-ish version of Strings Of Life by Christian Prommer on Sonar Kollectiv. http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=58988&highlight=58991 I imagine that 99% of the crowd won't recognise it but its a fun record nontheless, people will dance.

lol How many points do you get for sending for Wiley?

K and the inter-'nuum transition point

Erm what? You do know 'funky' refers to a london 'house' sound right? I don't think anyone is saying it is dubstep are they? Oh and if you mean funky as in the groove, have you ever heard a mala tune?

K and the inter-'nuum transition point

Don't think this is true really...dubstep was just like reinforced darkcore or NUT/Headz before it...mining the darker sounds, pushing the more mental/out there seam of a certain sound. Thats not the same as purging the swing by any means. I enjoyed the Abacus party early this year a lot but...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

The beat is off the hook...reminds me off the deeper side to Dizzee like 'Win' or whatever...not been that many tracks like that recently.

    Karlheinz Stockhausen RIP

I really hate the bullshit sound-bite journalism at the BBC - why would you choose to sum up a great artist's entire life by referring to some trivial little comment he may or may not have said just because its vaugley topical. Wankers. RIP.

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

lol yes when I saw that I thought Simon, you really did stop listening to grime in early 2005. Wheres an old roll deep set with skepta sending for every man when you need it?

    bassline house

Yeah thats quite good, got that messy, fucked late garage/early grime vibe going on. JTJ has some wicked stuff, he's my fave of the producers I've heard so far.

    bassline house

Interested in the interaction between the northern dance music traditions and the southern ones in bassline...they have MCs live over the sets right? Do they have rewinds? There is this whole happy hardcore/hard house vibe I get off some of the tunes (thats not a diss but its more of that...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Sharky don't really rhyme no more as far as I can tell...he was on a Mac 10 set about 2 yrs ago and thats the last I've heard.

Seeing Shaun Banger Scott using the word 'shower' tickled me for some reason :)

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Quick question about one of the MCs on Fuck Radio 5 (Ghetto birthday set). Anyone know who the MC is over the Gotta Man beat? "I'm in the dance shocking out like slewi/ This guy screwing me [something I can't make out] ...I couldn't give a fuck if he's hong kong fuey" And then one of his...

Kode 9 vs Flying Lotus on www.rinse.fm

Nice to see Kode back on rinse, if only for one night. :) FWD show was always the best.

    Funky/London/UK House

Yes, this is what I was getting at...I don't think most of 2-step was particulalry 'hard' but it was more 'avant' and unique (yet dancefloor) than listening to DJs spin US garage dubs for ever.

    Jeff Mills

I saw him at Lost a year or so ago and he was really good...I remember it being very latin percussively but with lots of tones and bleeps flying around too. Wasn't really in to him when I saw him at Sonar though, to jacky and full on for me... Still one of the guys I would travel to see though.

    Funky/London/UK House

Niche sounds like 187 lockdown. Funky sounds like a bit like a Defected compilation. @ Tanadan - wasn't stageshow, had a house tempo and everything.

    Funky/London/UK House

Yeah would be interested to know too...are there any DJs who are known as particularly 'forward'...a lot of the stuff on rinse seems to be this odd mix (to my ears) of actual deep house (kind of Kevin Yost vibe I guess), MAW, crap handbag sounding stuff a la 1995 and really interesting...

    Funky/London/UK House

Actually that sounds fairly similar to the sort of thing I heard...definitely worth keeping an eye on... Any other stations apart from Rinse pushing this?
