i really like Michael Nyman's "Memorial" too - it was written for the victims of the Heysel stadium football disaster.

i think Tim is fantastic even though/especially because i almost never agree with what he says but i love reading his stuff.

love it - one of the years best tunes. It's amusing the way people's peceptions of it changed after they heard who was involved. she's a terrible dancer though!

I think part of the problem is to do with identity. Warp had a very fixed identity in the 90's but that seems less and less relevant now for various reasons. There was a WARP sound then but there isnt really one now, is there? WARP don't know what it is themselves - i mean whats the point of...

My god did you see the "worst album covers" thing they did today? almost a facsimilie of the one Matt Woe did a year or so ago. Dig a little deeper for your ideas please.

it moves faster so yes, i do. also there are huge areas of music i am interested in that are unlikely to (perhaps ever) get sovered here, i think.

it's good to play Devils Advocate - if it had been a thread saying "how good is the new Tom Waits album" i probably wouldnt have replied to it! :) to anwerr your last post though i have never known someone to persevere with TW then "get it" - its just an immediate love it or hate it i think.

i already find the board a bit confusing to navigate to be honest.
