This is as good as everyone says it is, marvellous cinematic right angled turn as the film whips you from the grey skies of Scotland to a very lurid, steamy Uganda. Suprised to see Gillian anderson popping up again as English lady. Agree, more of Armin would've helped, such a powerful performance.

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

anyone listening to RinseFM right now, "tracks a bit aggressive, that's how i feel when sitting in traffic" it's Distance i reckon, it's so bowel renching i guess it must be him? sounds like he's playing stuff off his new album, it's like a new metal-step ting.

This is genius, how on earth did I miss this when it came out? it's done with such precision despite being a kind of joke record. J Cauty has risen loads in my estimation.

Bed News Tour Bad News Tour pt 3 The Comic Strip's Bad News predates Spinal Tap but will forever be compared to it. Peter Richardson is the only convincing character here but I love the song 3mins in, delightfully badly played.

Red Road Seems a bit over looked in the round up of 2006. Red Road by Andrea Arnold is one of the most compelling UK films this year. pics here

    dj nerves

the falling paint moment I think Blackdown sums it pretty well. played a squat do last night and got incredibly nervous a few hours before but actually DJing was fine, everyone there was really into it, you messing up a mix isn't gonna ruin their evening. Mind you it was quite comical that...

    "Sampledelia"

Interesting thread, I won't defend the beatz'n'samples crew but I think you have to remember what that 90s thing was all about. Along time ago everyone went clubbing in a big way most weekends and these were the kind of instant rhythms churned out for people pre/post club. Was it meant to...

    no music day

i think what the 'old farts' are suggesting is that as music becomes so ubiquitous and it's diversity instantly available we value it less. I'm also suprised by the reaction of those who cry in alarm at not having any music for a day will make them insane and unable to work? what's going on...

john harris is an arse (revisited)

isn't it scary that Newsnight think's U2 are worth discussing? Harris continually pushes his agenda of 90s music >Last Party as if nothing much happened except Britpop.
