Lady Sovereign - the Grime test

Oh, and "real" in terms of it being a slang terms means being honest to one's self. It is often mis-used by impressionable youths to mean acting like a gangster. It's only real if you actually are living that life, not putting it on for show.

Lady Sovereign - the Grime test

This reply is going to go round the houses, up onto the north circular, link up with the m25 and back again, but I shall get back... so bear with me. I actually decided to stay and take part in this forum because I like to discuss music. I've liked to discuss music long before I was a dj. I've...

    crazy titch - singalong

Thee's 2 chopped up soundin versions. One done by FT himself (the producer from IMP Batch) and one by BP. They are both floating around in the ether of DC++ and I don't think they are due a release, so knock urselves out. He also very, very kindly made me my own "version" to play as well.

    Pitchfork reviews Run the Road

No, obviously I don't want grime to get big. I like being poor. It's great fun spending my last £47 on 2 plates for the show on friday night knowing I shall be earning nothng for it while "Jack of all trades" former garage djs like Masterstepz pull in £450 an hour playing across the country...

Lady Sovereign - the Grime test

lol You are taking an off the cuff remark to be a law sent down on an acetate tablet from Mount Music House. I have no problem with people finding her "cheeky" or "entertaining", because that is exactly what she is. But when she is getting the same sort of rave reviews that someone of the...

    Pitchfork reviews Run the Road

Thankfully Run The Road isn't a Lady Sovereign mixtape, and utilising the skip button on your cd player is only required for one track.

The Creeper antics refer to the mythical Creeper volume 1-5 mixtapes having a release which will most likely be heralded by the coming of the four horsemen.

    Plasticman @ FWD?

Plasticman plays his own sound of music. Much like when you listen to a Karnage set you are going to get 80% "eski" and the remaining 20% being made up of various other big tunes of the moment. Plasticman plays a sound which veers much closer to the dubstep sound than the Eski sound, yet he...

    Pitchfork reviews Run the Road

I like Lady Sovereign. She is like the secret entrance exam for anyone who wants to like Grime. If they like her, they don't get it. She's a nice way of weeding out the fashion followers.

    take time (dizzee + wiley)

That's the horrible unmixed down version from the cd. I actually prefer Doorway over the top of the same riddim track from Creeper vol. 1 which I belive is doing the rounds on a p2p server near you.

    Pitchfork reviews Run the Road

I almost felt to stop reading after that opening paragraph. I had de ja vu. This is why I have a distaste for CERTAIN journalists and publications attempting to cover our music. It comes across as some sort of liberal feel good story. The music receives rave reviews because that appears to be...

    take time (dizzee + wiley)

That was a cd being sold in various market stalls before Wiley and Dizzee put out their albums bootlegged by someone who had various tunes on cd.

garage track from about 3 years ago.

It doesn't say "Boy you got to me" on the drop does it? Cos if that's what it says, everything else would fit and it would be the DND conemelt mix of the Murder Inc and Ashanti tune Down Wit U i think it was called.
