The only avenue if you want to listen to good new UK music from a variety of genres would probably be one of Ras Kwame's shows Semtex plays much the same as the big corporate US hip hop stations with some grime interspersed and I'm not very familiar with Excalibah.

Tim Westwood is smart enough to keep a great street team around him that keeps him in touch with what people actually want to hear. He is incredibly successful, and whether you like what someone does or not, if they are a consistent success you cannot argue.

I would choose to play Sovereign all day over MIA. MIA has NOOOOOOOOOOOOOTHING to do with grime, her tunes aren't produced by grime producers, she doesn't listen to grime, she is a tepid pop act on an independant label who seem to like to use their artists to give lesser acts credibility.

Zinc had nothing to do with the speed of "Garage" music changing. It was already being made in excess of 138bpm anyway years before Trek came out. If anyone had anything to do with it approaching the 140bpm barrier it is So Solid.

People still use fruity, they just acquire soundbanks. People also use VST plug ins wired through fruity on PCs which always impresses me. Most people end up moving on to Logic and a G4/5 though.
