Apologies I didn't see that - i did see alot of jungle stuff hence my comment, and the belgian stuff really ruled the roost for ages + its a long thread and it's not fair to say i'm trolling- but fuck you anyway.
edit: all dominics early links are dead too...
No belgian stuff in this thread which is frankly bullshit. - loads of people linking to jungle mixes though !

in terms of production, depth of mood and craft, the new isolee album has everything that james blake's seems to be missing, well i thought that when i heard em back to back the other night, i was off my mash on peas and gravy though:)

hmm when idm failed it was cos it went too balmy, emo and melodic and became very boring, or it went the other way and became dry exercises in giving some latest software fad a workout, or it had a bit of a feeling of intellectual superiority or social superiority to the music it essentially...
i still can't get into this stuff, i find it rather contrived and boring, but thats ok cos there will be tons of people saying how amazing he is, and he's clearly talented, just not my thing.

yep old jazz dancers used both footwork and 2 step as terms - 2 step was used to describe a musical form more or less funky beats/floaty vocals - footwork goes back to tap dancing more or less to describe dancing feet- ie it's a general term for fancy footwork.
yeah rare groove is what we called it - before my time but you know what i mean, exactly the same stuff as the jazz dance scene.
I think breakbeat to uk people now means something quite different from being into breaks etc though - it means this kinda of cheesy jank -
