i haven't kept up with snd since tender love and i've been listening to that and makesndcassette quite a bit recently, i freaken love them.
i was super excited before a shackleton gig and then pretty bored...
i'm pretty sure i played their album oracular spectacular more than anything else this year. it's so full, catchy, and plain old good fun it made me want to throw out my minimal techno collection.

I love Jamie Lidell. So does my 3 year old, his second favourite song is the "so tired song" aka Multiply. But then again his favourite song is the Thomas the Tank Engine theme tune so there's no accounting for taste.

i think that view of whether a label is "real" or not is partly because there is a financial risk in putting out a vinyl release, and mp3 only releases don't carry that risk. it's much easier to fake the funk if that funk is free.

"Time To Pretend" is just far too good, ridiculous lyrics, stupid big production, psychedelic/pretentious video, and so accessible that my 3 year old is just as hooked as me.
