NRG EP (digital) out in July on Car Crash Set
allow me spamming the thread with this populist and cheesy ad ;)

i could imagine 'far nearer' used as a dj-tool - dropped straight without blend and played for 1min, like dnb djs do with all the classics.
re: post-dubstep. tbh i think post-dubstep (and future garage etc.) was a wrong kind of backclash against wobble in the first place. both of these...
i don't wanna start argument whether it's happy hardcore or not (this is dubstep thread), but i think those trancey synths are great. brings some variation for the usual stabs/pianos.
yeah there are two kind of hardcore breaks, the rigid nuskool breaks-like, and the more or less authentic sounding oldskool hardcore-like.
check this:
incredible...
denoir, nah i'm meaning j-tek stuff. many times it's just too rigid. proper oldskool sounding hardcore breaks can be good tho.
there's though some good new jungle techno before modular and outrage started using j-tek term:

i was actually very inspired by the idea of jtek when it started back in '07 (partly inspired me to make my own >140bpm 4x4 stuff), but unfortunately in practice the sound wasn't that great... beats were rigid as fuck (over quantizes breaks forced over 4x4 beats) with over-produced oldskool...
scroll down that Bravestar page and you can find picture of the back cover.
in first half of the set there's some serious jagged 2step with real swagger! missing element in future garage...
that is the best thing about 150bpm - it's still unexplored tempo range if you don't count hardcore / early jungle. and even in those styles the transition from 140 to 160 happened quickly.
gumdrops, yeah, tempo barriers are frustrating.
