They keep setting up committees and "working" with people - does anyone in the world believe that these are anything other than attempts to obfuscate the truth and slow down the investigation and manage the release of damaging revelations?
Surely now there is a real chance that James Murdoch could go to jail?

This also interesting from Harbottle and Lewis

In this context, the CMSC may wish to consider whether News Intenational has waived any right to claim privilege over the legal advice it received (internally and externally) about the need to settle the Taylor litigation and the quantum of that settlement. In civil litigation, if a party deploys in evidence privileged material, then he waives privilege in all associated material so tht the Court and the other party can see that what has been released from privilege is a fair account of the advice received, and that a misleading impression has not been created. At the July 2011 Hearing News Internation (by Mr. James Murdoch and others) gave extensive evidence of the legal advice it received in settling the Taylor litigation as follows.......
In other words the files relating to Taylor which have been closed could legally be opened.

That's a different inquiry. In the Independent article seven paragaphs down (can't copy from that link) it says that an independent (small I) investigation into the Wallis allegations will continue.

Peston says Coulson was still being paid by News Intl long after starting work for Tory party. Long rumoured, now confirmed. Surely it's about time we started executing them?

Ah, was just gonna see if anyone had posted that yet. What an unbelievably transparent act of revenge - I'd love to see the justification for failing to investigate a real crime for ten years and then the throwing of weight behind an attempt to criminalise those who actually exposed that crime.

Keep thinking there has to be more to it. One of those decisions that's so obviously corrupt you just think you're missing something, cos they just couldn't be that blatant.

Wishful thinking.

I'd like to hear more from this man - whether those asterisks are just meant for emphasis...
