MAIN ATTRAKTIONZ ARE ALMOST GOOD but at the same time almost awful. its indie music. classsicly indie. lo-fi clud rap dog im fucking with that hahahhaha the amateurishness grates with me. theres always a sense of teenagers playing at making music which sometimes i enjoy and somtimes i dont. the stoner gang one on the blackberry kush always feels like this a lot. like (actually think its spaceghostpurrp) they are playing at making a trap beat rather than making a trap beat. do you understand what i mean?
curren$y particulalry on covery coup can mayb be described as east coast revivalism but its so bautfully done i dont begrudge him for it.

I don't think they intended to be like that... Admittedly, when they were starting up and it was just Squadda's odd beats mixed in with fairly traditional stuff, it was just odd. Since then though, they have these more 'indie' types giving them beats they enjoy, and it's turned into indie rap. Which is a shame because they're really good rappers, as I mentioned in my review, they've got great stylistic balance, and they're constantly spitting out great bars as throwaways.

Danny's verse pissed me off because it sounded so crass. "Main Attrak Cloud Rap!"; like he's trying to be down or something. Looking cool by listening to it...

Also, "Stonergang" isn't their record, but that said, they do it so well. And IMO it's a fairly standard trap rap beat, not that different.

On the subject of Willie, I really don't know. I'm glad he's blowing up, but I can't say I care. Was more of a La fan to be honest (who, by the way, STILL GOT IT. There was a freestyle with him, Rae and Willie on Green Lantern's show and he killed it, by far.)

Interesting what you say about them attracting more indie-ish producers, Crowley. I think Squadda and Nem270 are the strongest producers in Green Ova. I had a listen to one of their latest mixtapes the other day and, although there is good stuff on there, some of it just feels TOO 'out there'.

yeah ive listened to some new la, it was one of the more suprsiing things to me, him having a carrer still, really heartwarming. and yes that danny brown line is very crass, painful, th most cringey line ive ever heard in th my years of listning to people rapping. if that was me i would have said danny, i love you, your a great rapper and we appreciatee th support but, are you trying to mak me sound like a cunt?

it's never too early to open up, luka. its just sometiems FAR FAR TOO LATE.

I'm a bit ashamed of what I've posted. Its obscene. It was made for a DNB forum so there was no moral expectations to consider.

oh bout it bout it, that was the song i was thnking of. its good i like it. westwood played a bit of master p but his heart wasn't really in it. no other radio djs played him as far as i can remember. i was quite suprised when giggs said it was all drugs guns and master p. i dont know anyone in england that listenend to master p at the time. ive always maintained south london is not really london at all though, but more like a twilight zone or mirror world you reach by crossing the water, its similar but somethings not quite right. its a funny feeling beeing south of the river.

Once I got really drunk when I was young and done a poo in a bush. No toilet paper, but to drunk to care.

Came home and my boxers were caked in it.

Lesson learnt.

Oh, and if you ever went to the first Odd Future gig at the drop and wondered why the mens smelt so bad, that was me.

Ben and Jerrys + Lactose intolerance = a funny story

Forgot what I was going to post now

Speaking of shit...

Listening to 50 and realizing that Tony Yayo is the only member of G-Unit with relevance is a harrowing concept. Absolutely HARROWING.

hahah i dunno what relevance means but i like this beat a lot. i just spent th last 2 hours listening the my favourite grime instrumentals and this doesnt sound too bad alongside them.

LLoyd's always going to be a 'robot rapper' for me. You know, gives you mixtapes of 'dense lyrical skillz', albums of 'what the people wanna hear' (AKA Girl songs, party records, etc.) Yayo is just pure stupidity. It's a lot less accomplished, but when he's on fire, he's on fire. 50 used to be able to tightrope between the two, but now everything is...

That style he dropped was on some '84 stuff. That's not a good thing.

And grime instrumentals will ALWAYS be relevant. I think NY should discover grime instrumentals, they just can't do anything with trap rap beats, but they need some way to sound aggressive.

yeah i dunno, i just really like the aesthetic i suppose. of course banks has no peresonality and actually isnt even that lyrical but theres just somthing so perfectly realised about a lot of those g unit records. the atmospherics. the griminess. the atmosphereics are classic but they dont sound dated. its just its on little chamber and i like it. grime only lasted a little while but it was an amazing time. id just got back to stratford after spedning time abroad and there was just this whole newe thing blooming and being born in front of me.
im reading rzas self-help manual this evening. its very touching.
