again with the caveat that i don't know anything about that part of the world (ukraine etc), one thing that does look like it is happening to some extent in the west is the emergence of an idea that fighting against russia is a 'just war', ie, a war where we can all get behind one side of the conflict. if this thing becomes prolonged and bloody that could look strange in retrospect i think
