Well it might be more plausible, for one thing. More plausible than the US "supporting ISIS", which poses a direct threat to their interests in the region, and then spending billions of dollars fighting them.
I get you're meaning. There was a period of time though not too long ago in Syria that the CIA was arming/backing one faction, and the Pentagon was arming & backing another faction. Both factions were mortal enemies.
