Music is freedom.

It’s about who you are and how you feel, not what you think you should like or what other people think of you.

This is so good that for years I thought it was peak Jam & Lewis but they had nothing to do with it.

I played this in the car driving Jim and Luke from Brecon after an abortive magic mushroom pick. Jim loved this so much he rewound the intro about 50 times. I think I’d actually driven us out of the National Park and past Merthyr Tydfil before we even got 30 seconds into the song.

It’ll be the first dance at my wedding.

Epic Slow Jam, the Ur-Slow Jam.

This is from the 12” that Balls of Woe (allegedly) performed a lewd act upon.

Listening to a Pet Shop Boys anthology recently I discovered that one of the vocal samples is from their early 90s Summer of Love inspired track ‘It’s Alright’!

This is dank and nasty and weird, though, and I’ve always had a soft spot for it.

Good luck finding this one on Spotify Corpsey.

6.

The second best thing Ferry ever did. The apex of Yacht Fascism.

To channel Ingram, long 12” version essential.

It's the Craner Spring. I get the feeling that, very sensibly, he won't make this his 100 favourite records, but will instead present 100 carefully curated very cool records. A pruned aesthetic without the accidents and anomalies. That's what I am hoping for.
