I liked the footage on sky news from the farmer's protest where a guy was asked what kier would think if he was watching this and he replied "he won't be watching this! he is in RIO! going blah blah blah with his PLAYMOBIL HAIR"

I liked the PLAYMOBIL HAIR comment, maybe I laughed out loud LOL

One for the "celebrity lookalikes" thread, except Private Eye already did this, so I can't claim credit.

I know some on here aren't the biggest fans of him, but the right's opinions on Starmer seem absolutely deranged.

Taking the bot and propaganda factor into account, some of the comments and discussions online are just surreal. The howling that's erupted in response to absolutely anything Labour have done or said's that spectacular you'd think the Marquis de Sade had installed himself in No. 10. I just had some knobhead's podcast pop up in my YouTube relateds about "the depths of Starmer's evil" as though they were profiling a notorious serial killer.

Starmer has for no good reason put us at risk of an ICBM strike or two, which would kill far more people than any serial killer.

politics in the age of WhatsApp groups and social media. I wonder what the long term effect of all this will be?

I think it (partly) depends on whether Labour hold their nerve or allow themselves to be bullied. If they effectively tell the nutters to fuck off rather than appeasing and pandering to them like the Tories, and if they actually improve people's lives, then the public may see the right's hysterics for what they are.

Yeah, the Tories seem like such a mess rn they'll be luck y to get traction but who knows? Quite into the improving people's lives bit but a tall order.

The Tories are polling higher than Labour, even with Reform sucking votes away.

Presumably you guys think the protesting farmers are everyday working people rather than "nutters".

Seems mad for Starmer to be the most hated when immigration is apparently the defining issue in this country and it's Boris and the Tories who pushed it to the highest levels on record. He's even admitted it to the press...

Boris Johnson has claimed migration to Britain was allowed to soar to record levels because there were not enough workers to “stack shelves”.
The former prime minister defended the surge in migration from 184,000 in 2019 to a record peak of 764,000 in 2022 because businesses and government departments were “freaking out” due to a shortage of workers “to get things done”.
The wonders of having a right wing press, I suppose. You can cop to exactly what they're moaning about and they'll still give you an easy ride and go after the left instead.

Shame it didn't come off when the main culprits were in office.

been a sustained coordinated rw assault on multiple platforms since July 5th, never seen anything quite like it to the extent you consistently (at multiple levels) have to proactively disengage

even in 2010 there wasn’t the same level of hullabaloo over a new administration even though we all knew this island was going to submit to the sodomy

I mean 2011’s riots were a consequence of polis violence, all it took was a concerted pr campaign featuring the threat of Turkish EU membership and Cambridge Anal-lick-it-ta to nudge a nation state onto a v different course

democracy = the greatest con since religion

If it's the fault of the 'home office blobocracy' and they were there through various Tory governments, why is it now Starmer's fault when Labour are in?
You won't get any sense out him. His brain's turned to mush after years of freebasing the Spectator.
