Yes, it's definitely that, and not the fact that aliens with bulging heads and big slanted eyes have been a staple of sci-fi and horror cinema since the 1950s.🤦‍♂️

You're proving my point by showing the limits of what your culture has conferred to you: many more types reported than that but all in the same %s with some types not common in Anglophone cultural representation at all.

Basically, you personally would expect almost exclusively that cliche but that's not what came out...but what did come out was also uniformly reported everywhere

So some are green and some are grey, etc. The idea that Earth is a battlefield for various rival alien species is itself a well-worn cliché, or at least a trope - they did this on The X-Files 30-odd years ago.

And your assertion that different cultures still exist in silos is just bizarre. We can all consume films, TV shows and games produced anywhere in the world at any time we like. Remember when the whole world went nuts for a dystopian Korean thriller a couple of years ago?

Your point was so bad that it immediately made me think of another refutation: where are all the sightings of ETs, Daleks, Cybermen, Star Trek and Star Wars aliens. Perhaps you would claim that people's imaginations were self-restricting to aliens that were culturally associated with supposedly real abductions, but then that makes people who should have been assessed as crazy somewhat too rational.
