I didn't say he wasn't a grifter, just that unlike Trump + his people, he has real beliefs beyond self-interest

why else would he be ranting about heads on pikes? what grifting angle does that serve?

the circles around Trump were positively awash with pure grifters who got along just fine

whereas Bannon was unable to - in part for personal reasons, but pretty clearly also bc of his beliefs

his post-White House decline has been steep, that's for sure

But yeah he definitely believes in the project - when the Mooch got fired he (ultimately) switched sides but Bannonwould never do that. Was surprised he was robbing from believers... everyone needs money I guess.

wonder how much the trumps, and the Donald in particular, have "stepped up" with $$? my guess is...

ca. 2016-17 a couple friends + I had an intermittent running competition to one-up each other with descriptions of Bannon's appearance in a group text

favorites I recall are "he looks like he ashes into half-empty beers and then finishes drinking them"

and "he looks like his head went through whatever machine dusts Doritos"

When they "call a lid" that means they're not doing anything else, but where does the expression come from? Is it a sporting thing or what?

not familiar with that term, but imagine it's derived from "put a lid on it", closing it.
