This manhunt they've got going's like something from a film. A group of masked men ambushed a prison van with machine guns, killed two guards, injured three, and broke out a guy known as "The Fly". Now there are hundreds of police out looking for him.

When I was ~13, my brother was in some kind of program that required a French foreign exchange student stay with us for a few weeks. He didn't speak English very well, if it all.
I don't know why, but for some reason I felt compelled to place a quarter in my eye like it was a monocle and keep saying to the guy in a heavy, but poor sounding French accent "I'm French! I'm French! I'm French!" ad nauseum

the French, eternally getting away with it…

…in their inimitable mix of style and corn, crassness and sophistication, both ringard and way ahead

I was just thinking about Napoleon and it made me think, maybe we pay too much attention to our national differences here, us Anglos, and not enough to our shared cultural strengths and values, like how we are two of the three (Germany?) countries in the world to see through France's cultural pretensions

Sure they may have their quirks. If it weren’t for the French though during the American revolution, we’d all be speaking English over here.
