I found an old hard drive containing my photos from Taiwan 2019 - there were gaptcha machines in an arcade that included this:



In 2023 I encountered the same machine in Narita airport and bought this:



I was hoping to buy more this year but the machine had disappeared from Narita airport

maybe the weirdest gaptcha I saw in Taiwan or Japan was the phone rope bondage / Shibari

My dad's been banging on for ages about wanting to read this book, The Mushroom at the End of the World, so I picked it up for him for Father's Day.

Reading it myself at the moment as FD's about a week away and it's not what I expected. A lot of talk of assemblages and references to Marx and Donna Haraway and Japanese poetry. Not sure how much he's going to like it.

I gave my dad one of the two copies of Sheldrake's book I received for Christmas. He says he read about a third of it or something, and then decided he knew quite as much about fungi as he really needed to.
