I think the 'tunes' in the Burial interview refers specifically to the London nuum - hardcore, jungle, garage.
It all sounds very contrived though - whoever it was that said recently on here those Burial interviews were made up by Kode 9 & co. were probably right. It's music by someone who was too young to be raving in the 90s and will have primarily come to it through the internet, was totally outside the grime scene, and dubstep will have been the only accessible thing going on at the time in London.
That's not even to knock Burial really, but I think it's true and even dubsteppers would have to admit it.

Does that mean there was no music she felt positive about, or she actively hated all organized sounds?I'll always remember one of the femalecontestants on, I think, the very first series of Big Brother saying they didn't like any music at all. I mean, is that even possible?
Obviously contrived bollocksThere was something very odd going on that he happened to love MR James and all of K-Punk's other obsesions. Very odd.
I dunno, both maybe? She just didn't like music, full stop, apparentlyDoes that mean there was no music she felt positive about, or she actively hated all organized sounds?
Yeah for sure cos I had friends who were totally outside that whole sound or group of bloggers yet who marvelled at how convenient it was.Obviously contrived bollocks
I'm in a very similar position, listened to almost nothing for nearly a year now. You aswell right?
Do you mean the dj technics one? My life extra?squat party scene in The Wire where there were some killer breaks being played* and I was hoping that they might have been on the OST CD, but I remain disappointed )
* this may be a figment of my imagination, but I have a memory of red & blue flashing lights, snippets of what might have been killer breaks, and one of the fictional characters may have thought he was on "a promise"... it's been over a decade (!) since I watched The Wire, maybe it's time to re-evaluate?
