in the UK in the 80s some of us were exposed to the concept of continuous mixing through the STREETSOUNDS electro compilations

volumes 1 & 2 were my favourites

I used to play them when we were peaking on acid and some of the old hippies would ask me what German electronics I was playing and I had to tell them, "no, this is American dance music" and their prejudices would melt away just like my face was at the time...

sort of similar kind of band, Midnight Star is from my home state capital just about 30 miles northeast

I still remember wishing I had the skills when some kids in the elementary school talent show came out breakin to their music

it's OK they're all bald now from spinning on their heads and arthritic from the popping and locking

i dont like her. she seems evil. like she would be mean to me.
yeah i think that's a thread running through her thing. mean power over men. acceptable forms of boasting twist and turn over the years. generally its not acceptable to boast. but at the moment boasting girls like her slip through the net of propriety. this tune is a kind of power fantasy

luka will love this one

this track is incredible. def the best thing on the brat album. brat reminds me of a lot of 00s sounds i loved at the time, but it also reminds me of trends from that period i hated (naif amateurism/mike skinner/kate nash-style spoken/rapped deliveries, club classics even has a section where it replays the synths from blinded by the lights, and then theres that one song that sounds like akon/david guetta). shes a genius for pop hooks though. not quite as consistent overall as how im feeling now but its got more bangers.
