like loads of the american stars at the moment he's digging thru pain of sex and relationships trying to make sense of it well specifically he's making machines that help all the young people make sense of it. he's a fellow traveler. coz sex in america is bizarre and painful. utterly deregulated. People need the balm

you can hear in the music that he's rich and spends a lot of money. with all these guys what's going on in the music or at least in the way that the music and the context hits you together has something to do with being rich. they're not everyman tunes

Pop stars can never be too relatable, even in this era of your drakes being more 'emotionally vulnerable'. They need to be as depressed as we are but in a Malibu mansion. Perhaps as well as the aspirational factor it's important and even comforting to feel that all of the wealth in the world isn't going to solve the gaping hollowness inside. I certainly feel that the weekends music contains no real emotions, only parodies of emotion.
