I'll say that I'm disgusted by people who are excited because any health insurance CEO was killed. It's just not the right angle. But UHC? They are particularly nasty. I do think that's a lot of the reason that he's getting a Shinzo Abe-like reaction.

Remember the words of the Killdozer: I was always willing to be reasonable until I had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things.

it is so insane to me that this type of stuff is just recorded and online for all of us to see, same thing with the trump shooting.... just like perfect framing and angles to see some guy just get killed.... also what type of gun was that, why was he manually cocking the gun? he couldnt have used something that would get the job done faster?

Apparently it jammed and he just stood there and calmly cleared the jam and then got on with the job in hand. Legend.

everyone on the internet is now suddenly an expert on firearms, but the speculation that made most sense to me was that either he was using "subsonic" ammo in combination with a suppressor ( not a "silencer", people seem to get very heated about this ) which doesn't produce enough recoil to push back the bolt carrier that triggers a spring that moves the bolt carrier forward, thus failing to automatically chamber the round, requiring manual intervention - or, it was a special "single action pistol" which Navy SEALs are sometimes issued... or.. it's homemade

This post reminds me of a couple of passages in a Dan Brown novel I read decades ago that he'd obviously copied wholesale out of Jane's Military Encyclopedia.

what type of gun was that

latest speculation from experts is that it is a B&T Station Six 9

STATION-SIX-45_Right.png

Tracing its roots back to the covert, World War II-era Welrod pistol, as well as the more modernized contract VP9, the all-new Station SIX-9 (Silenced Project caliber 9) harkens back to the famed Bride Hall weapons acquisition section, or SOE Station VI, and later Station IX, where the original concept was conceived.

This updated, integrally suppressed pistol features a new grip and updated magazines, yet maintains its non-descript appearance, whisper-quiet sound signature and unique rotating bolt operation. This model in 9mm wears a 3-in. barrel. It finds its operational success as a magazine-fed, non-auto-ejecting single-shot functioning in a rotational bolt action. It is beautifully enhanced by wipe suppressor, and a baffled suppressor is an available option for those who prefer that design.

I was talking about this to my Mom earlier and she reminded me about the short period of time she worked under the president of a small company in 1985.
She said she had to quit because
#1 there was a baby with several health issues, due to being born prematurely, where they wouldn't cover the costs for the equipment for it to be able to live at home
#2 when she went to show the president the data on how many c-sections were being performed versus the national average, he told her to "hide it"

If you're wondering about #2, apparently it sometimes costs less to perform a c-section than wait however long it would have taken to happen naturally.

Someone was saying the other day that Abe has to be up there as one of the most successful political assassinations as the bloke not only killed his target but also achieved his wider aim of exposing the links between Japanese politics and the Moonies and even managed to generate public sympathy after explaining his motives.

Same goes for this guy in the US. The CEO's dead, no bystanders were injured, the killer's yet to be apprehended and everyone's talking about the evils of the insurance industry. Gone about as well as I imagine he could have hoped.

Thing is I actually have done a lot of work for evil companies and made out like a bandit doing it

And I always tell myself "if you didn't write this series of promotional emails, someone else would"

So do I deserve a clip in the spine?
