Yabby You & Big Youth - Yabby Youth

72 Different Nation!

MOVE YAH!

Yabby You - Conquering Lion

I once burnt off a 80 minute CD consisting of multiple versions and variations of this tune to help me on my journey to synchronisation with CREATION

works well on DMT, I can say hand on heart

King Tubby - Big Youth Fights Against Capitalism

( rum induced word association )

this was a tune that once upon a time for decades only Festus, selector for Coxsone Outernational Sound, could play on exclusive dubplate, but now even I can own it on 7 inch vinyl

The Invaders - Conquering Lion

he won't return as the lamb to slaughter
he will return as KING

he will return as a Conquering lion

and set the captives free!

EQUALITY!

The Invaders - You Touch My Soul

this touches my soul

trombone only works in reggae ( edit: and ska and rocksteady )

but I'm also partial to the organ version

Winston Francis - Let's Go To Zion

Zion is the only place where there is LOVE AND HARMONY

just to be clear, ZION is a state of mind he's talking about, not a piece of desert sand

Sangie Davis - Words

the meditation of your heart!

Gatherers - Words ( rehearsal )

youtube is a bit rubbish, so I can't post the ultra rare "do be do be doo" backing vocal version, but really most of the tunes I've posted are poor relations of the vinyl versions that I could play you

but this tune elevates me to higher heights, etc

although before I do crash

let's play one of the finest discomix 12 inches ever

Wailing Souls - Kingdom Rise Kingdom Fall

babylon back is against the wall!

words will fail me if I try and describe the majesty of this 12 inch discomix, heavenly vocal trio beats down Bablyon before the Roots Radics drop in and out and the reverb on the snare keeps time

if you are only going to own one Greensleeves 12 inch discomix then this is it

proper

one of the first academic treatises on dub [0] said something along these lines about Scientist's mixes of the Wailing souls:

“The production style … seemed to depict some sort of dreamy, electro-pastoral paradise … the singers’ voices floated above a bed of subtly reverberating
guitar chords, anchored by a ponderous electric bass pattern, colored with enchanting wah-wah guitar melodies, and thrown into a cavernous soundscape.”
