He's supposedly a big supporter of unions and considers himself 'pro-worker', but it's very hard to square that with him choosing to associate with people like Thiel, Trump and Musk.

That, and now with the zelensky thing, is him asserting himself on the world stage now. He's gone up a level.

The culture war and free speech stuff he came out with in it was pretty lame and outdated. It sounded more like it was directed back home to the US in some ways.

But still, it was a moment.

Can see Trump dying in office and Vance becoming a republican Kennedy after a successful assassination within a few years of taking office. Maybe he’ll make it to Kid Charlemagne’s kill list but don’t want to encourage a lad on the edge

Trump, understandably, is just a vehicle for Vance. If you add time up as vp, he’s fairly secure of being around for a prolonged period. He doesn’t lack for confidence, possibly at foolish levels. Going from Hillbilly Elegy to castigating Trump to running with Trump to castigating Zelenskyy as part of a large group (press, audience and all) is quite a shift for anyone. Hitler is quite a diss too

He came across as arrogant and blustery with VZ but I just assume sketchy intentions from the start to have risen this far this quickly in US politics. He has the personality of an 1860’s Civil War general without the experience, the margin of a huge election win further elevating said arrogance. Couldn’t quite believe a Scots-Irish American had converted to catholicism, as opposed to evangelical southern baptist, until reading around converting as a Thiel suggestion. He’ll still bleed Orange

Looks a fat bloke without the beard, almost Starmer-esque spam face, just not the alcoholic complexion. He had the opportunity to inflate his name more prominently on the world stage with VZ in town and whether you agree on his behaviour or not, it was brutally oafish yet compelling for all the right and (conversely) wrong reasons

Mr. Tea

Let's Talk About Ceps
Clearly an absolute knobhead who would be so annoying in a social situation you'd have to fuck him off within less than half an hour
He's also thrown his lot in with the most openly racist administration in decades despite having an Indian wife and mixed-race kids, and is now VP to the man he once described as "America's Hitler."

So it's not so much that he has bad principles, just that he has no principles whatsoever. He's ruled by ambition for it's own sake, and nothing more. Just total nihilism.

Yeah, probably. He definitely benefits from coming off as the relative voice of reason when you stick them next to each other. A lot of people warmed to him after seeing his Rogan interview during the campaign and commented on how direct and normal he seemed for a politician.
idk. People are going to remember that behaviour to Zelensky.

I'm also convinced Trump will die in office idk why. Maybe just wish fulfilment.

There's been an absolute deluge of those Vance memes.
