If it's moving this far fwd then there's also Sleazenation's Soundclash Volume 01 - Future Garage mixed by J Da Flex and Oris Jay. April 2003.That would be the beginnings of dubstep then.
Yup - could you up this, loads on there I don't have...

anybody know any tracknames from this set? it's one of the best garage sets I've heard, there's bare tunes I don't know.

there's one tune in particular I want, at 66 minutes. the vocals go something like this:

"making love to you, every single day. every single day, I need to see your face, to hold you next to me, oh baby can't you see."

..et so forth, in a warped, bubbly chipmunk r'n'b style.

any clues?

This here is a cd that came free with Muzik magazine, which was a slightly higher brow version of Mixmag. It's a label showcase for Locked On from late 2000, mixed by label head Andy Lewis. There's a few rare remixes of tracks.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/8fswa6

1. Todd Edwards- Saved My Life (Large Joints mix)
2. Zed Bias- Neighbourhood (2k Vocal mix)
3. Ruff Cut and Bias- Down (DND mix)
4.EL-B feat Juiceman- Digital
5. Suburban Lick- Here Come the lick (DJ South Central Mix)
6. Monsta Boy- Sorry
7. Red or Dred- How I feel
8. James Lavonz feat She & Mr D- mash Up Da venue
9. Wideboys- Something Got Me Started- (Dub mix)
10. Leee Jon- Your Mind, Your Body, Your Soul (MJ Cole mix)
11. James Lavonz- Vibration

the remixes make the CD more interesting than it would be if it was just a compilation of the labels release schedule for that year. The todd mix is different from the original but works quite well. DND and the Wideboys offerings are undiscovered gems. the south central cut is a fucking garage classic. and the closing track is a brilliant 4/4 tune, should have put James Lavonz on the map

this mix is really really good, thanks a lot. love the long mixes and giving the tracks lots of time to do their stuff. that 'here come the lick' track is pretty much perfect

Anyone know anything about an anonymous tune called "Death Move RMX" (Catalogue no. CHINKS 005)? Picked it up cheap over the summer and it's insane. Not sure when it came out, but it's dark as hell with a strong early dubstep vibe.

I LOVED this Stevie Wonder remix from 2001, played over certain portions of Pirate Radio Land. Oh, lovely memories.

Could be Death moves, which was the b-side to Buddha Finger. http://www.discogs.com/release/105991
It had similar samples from badly dubbed kung fu movies, like buddha finger.

There was also this, by Zed Bias and someone else.

Never heard it though

I listened to this for the first time in years last night, and it sounds better than I remembered it to be.

DJ Swiss and MC Harvey of the So Solid Crew- London's UK Garage Mafia

Even though the CD has a barcode, the careless tracklisting attributing other peoples songs to So Solid, and the fact that its on an obscure american label, makes me think its semi-official.

They've resisted the temptation to play wall to wall so solid tracks, and theres some interesting darkside stuff. Harvey isnt going to win any awards for spitting, but its alright. This was one of the early mix CDs to have an MC over it. No real duff tracks on this.
