The Big Hello Thread

I think we both want this forum to reach it's potential. At the moment I'm trying to do my part in nudging it in that direction. There's a lot of talent here and maybe with some reflection and stern words we could recalibrate and get back on track to realizing some of it, who knows. I just don't like seeing it so stagnated, and I think certain elements have been keeping it in that state. See: several posts from people saying they don't feel like participating much. Imo it's going to be more productive to cultivate healthy competition and constructive criticism over just walloping any seedling that sprouts up with a hammer. Also, I honestly think bullying sucks. Especially when it's being sold as just a laugh or even for someone's own good (fkn lol) when it's clearly just a bunch of jackals taking a sly bite of an already down antelope. Everything in moderation, but when it's the overarching tone of a place, that doesn't engender productivity. Just my pov

you have encouraged Luka's indolent tendancies though. Ever since covid he hasn't moved forward an inch. let's see if Ludwig will do the trick.

I am still raging that all of you lot discouraged oblique from posting on the forum. You have to take your fair share of blame for this. You can't run a primarily music focused forum on the vibes and the heart. The head has to be involved.

@Corpsey was actually the most intelligent and level headed, and my respect for him has gone up incomparably.

Apparently Luke turned his copy of A Thousand Plateaus into an illuminated manuscript with a set of marker pens.

I happen to love, & was profoundly influenced by debord. It was written the year I was born (68) same as Fisher btw. It just spoke/made sense to me personally. Therefore, quite subjective.

just chuck hegel down yer gullet.

The Hegel and Situationism threads for @GhostofKinski.

He still posts on here all the time

Without wanting to be a gossip rag, he said to me he doesn't see the point anymore.

and he was annoyed at you dismissing the music he posts as sounding antiquated when bbarty music doesn't sound any newer.

I told him to just ignore it but not everyone has a hardened stomach of austerity like me. I don't know. I think the search for the new is a technocratic deathtrap, capitalist sewer enshitment.

I do agree that our standards have deteriorated when you and benny were allowed to have your gallagher love-ins though. idgaf if you love them but bad standards for the forum.

That was Biscuits, wasn't it? I don't remember an incident involving anyone else.

I don't approve of patty's pessimistic moaning. It's just counter-productive. I would even agree with him that the state of music consumption in the 20s via spotify (etc) is not appetising but that just means the gradiants have to be recalibrated and the questions have to be asked in a new way.

I don't know what is funny? I am a fiend for argument so I will argue my case. But not everyone wants to do that.

The drug sniffing dogs cannot detect these drugs which were almost exclusively soaked into paper (mail). I witnessed and had to get a mail call officer who handled the mail without surgical gloves (a big no-no) to a medical emergency. All letters are delivered to the housing area and opened in front of the inmate for inspection before letting them have it. This officer was an old timer, he nearly died.
Really wild. It makes perfect sense though, that they'd get it in on paper and you'd have dermal absorption issues.

Mad who you learn from, eg o.g toxicologist who cracked my own habit was mid-80’s, ex-fiend and jazz percussionist who found the perfect detox recipe. Applied it to others, boom, circles squared
Is a (simpler?) version of it shareable here?

Dihydrocodeine as a tapering bridge

It can be quite speedy for an opiate. 10-12hrs at 60-90mgs. I‘d always jones with methadone so wise owl suggested a short bridging addition

Follow up work is where the real graft hits

howdy, @sus introduced me to dissensus, been looking for a place to hang out
went to college in the us, lived in nyc for 4 years, but now am back to são paulo where i grew up as a kid
work in software, do some architecture stuff on the side, vaguely interested in the "systems perspective", whatever that means
I really do enjoy software, and am vaguely enmeshed in the "new computing" scene, while flirting with some permacomputing
am interested in digital archives, tools for media preservation, etc, have written a bit about ubuweb in the past
atm am trying to do a bit of a deep-dive into são paulo literary history, which means the Andrades, the Campos, and modernist poetry
I also enjoy rock climbing and am curious about lightweight/portable/nomadic architecture
