The Hwang family , property developers from HK , sold the London 'architectual landmark'on Thursday for 400 million pounds (US 786m) , ending a 13 year struggle to dev the site.
Hwang Fam's ideas for the project were said to be 'hotels , a conf center , shops and a garden' to which local council recently gave final approval.
The buyer is the board of Real Estate Opportunities , a property Co. controlled by Treasury Holdings in Dublin.
'The future for BPS is 'mixed use' and main emphasis on quick development.'
'France , burdened by upkeep , puts prime properties on the block'
Castles, Villas and other historic buildings up for sale in effort to put down the national debt.
Both items struck me as in a London Ballardian's mode
'what do they do there ?' ' what did they do there ?' turns to
soon to be covered up , painted over , torn down for scrap
And bk in the US.
The Children's Food And Beverage Advertising Initiative , a group formed to run the recent plan put forth by the Council Of Better Business Bureaus , is expected to help the 10 food and beverage companies come up with their own guidelines in six to nine months.
The corporations involved are General Mills, Coca - Cola, PepsiCo, Hershey, Kellog, Cadbury Schweppes, Campbell Soup, Kraft Foods and Unilever.
Guidelines under the plan include making certain half the advertising for younger children promotes 'healthier food and lifestyles' , agreeing to not advertise in elementary schools, place ads in children's ent. and limit the use of beloved cartoon or movie characters to help sell junk food.
The timing of this move just may have something to do with the new Democratic Congress.
My reason for including here is that I'd bet in few years time those 10 Companies will become 7 - then 5 - 3 then maybe two major food Companies offering almost all our
'food needs' .

will 'hand the keys to the Int. Space Station over' to other countries involved with building it
We can guess this is at least partly about grabbing that abiity to
'piss on everyone from a great height' with whatever new laser, pulse or energy weapons
the MilitaryIndustrialCongressional complex has rigged by then
but it also raises question of whether the Moon efforts soak up all the $ and NASA focus that would otherwise go to more exploration , Mars trips , etc.
Anyway, they will do what they want ...

That doesn't really make any sense. It'd just be far cheaper to build underground bases on earth. Or just set up in a really remote location, like some island nobody knows about. You'd be shitting it the whole time in space, worrying about the oxygen running out or whatever. Even in the event of a nuclear war/total enviromental collapse, it would still be easier to find shelter on earth.
Unless the populace inhabits a world in grave decline and they're out for blood. Then you find out exactly how small the world really is.

'Copycat', cloned by researchers there in 2001 had 3 kittens in Sept.
A&M was known for their clone work with cattle, pig, goats , horses and a deer.
Not the first cloned cat birth though, in New Orleans two African wild cat clones had kittens
The tag 'cloned' carries some whiff of meaning- feeling of 'cold' and 'not quite right'
('Here's your cloned beef sir'... )
but really, what's different about the clone ? it's kittens ? anything but the initial process ?
