Not actually seen that many lynch things

Blue velvet, Mulholland drive, first episode of twin peaks and elephant man
Go and watch all of TP, including the third series, right now.

(Actually you have my permission to miss the latter part of the second series, which Lynch had little to do with and is a bit pants.)

I think Lost Highway is maybe the best... OK confused towards the end but that bit with them receiving the video of themselves sleeping is still one of the creepiest things I've ever seen. And the Mystery Man bit...
Getting the phone call from the malignant dwarf while said dwarf is sat there on his couch grinning at him...

I'm named after Lost Highway, but seem to rate Inland Empire a lot higher than most, almost his magnum opus of ideas condensed into his most stylistic film. One of the best bits, a bit marmite, is where Laura Dern looks at camera and says "Sweeeet". His music is nice too. Seen it criticised as blues by numbers, but the production sounds sweet to me, like he's got some good studio stuff to go with the smoky vibe.

Yeah that's the mystery man... although he phones his own house to discover the guy is there.
Oh that's right. Been a long time since I've seen it.

I watched it with Tom once while we were both a bit wrecked, and he fell asleep for 20 or 30 minutes halfway through, then woke up and said "What's going on? What have I missed?", and I just laughed at him.

I really like this bit of, I dunno, industrial sludge:

He has a lot of moments I think... This is the water and this is the well... whatever the fuck that means.
