That was really funny! I have never had time for Scott Walker.Bailey has him sussed.A rewrite of ''The Windmills Of You Mind'' with even more pretentious lyrics.Spot on!

Scott Walker is not fit to lick the shoes of the mighty Jack Jones and untill he writes a song about doing just that,I will continue. to ignore his pathetic offerings.

PS The idea that "retro" or throwbacking is new or "pomo" or that artists didn't use to borrow formally from other artists from the past or recent past is stupid. They just didn't call it "retro" because I guess they understood that formally that's how art works--i.e. within a context/tradition whose formal elements already exist before you get there to add to/borrow from/steal them and join the context/tradition.

never seen excepter -- but i will be checking them out! -- really like their sound/image -- and from the rockstepper song, they've got a touch of happy mondays in their blood

seriously nomadologist, i should be upset with you for not mentioning them to me personally

wait one second, is dj porkchop ss a member of excepter?

he's the dj of choice among the black rebel bicycle club, who used to live beneath me when i was in an illegal flat 3-4 years ago on bedford b/w myrtle and willoughby, i.e., the bicycle gang that rides around town with the seats jacked way up high in the sky

not sure if i'm feeling their other tracks, i.e., i just did a quick investigation, but "rocksteppers" song/video is brilliant
