Hmm.. maybe its not such a huge difference...one market that does seem to have expanded is the paperback and 'vanity' collection end of things - all the marvel and DC character compendiums, the new 2000AD ones (nemesis 1-3!), lost girls, 50 different versions of watchmen/dark knight etc... Stray toasters just got collected for example!

Yes, I noticed that a lot of DC/Marvel stuff that would normally just be a trade is published as hardcover first now, which seems to be a bit of fanboy ripoff... hardcover albums is something I associate with franco-belgian bande-dessinées, but not with american mainstream comics.

Today my comic dealer had Liquid City for me, just flipping through looks quite positive.

If ppl ever want an good intro to comics, i'd recommend trying to read lone wolf and cub, it's one of the best things planet earth has to offer.

I've just started reading part 2 ("Apocalipstick") of The Invisibles after my mate found it in his local library (cool library!). I read part 1 last year and found it equal parts bewildering and amazing. Not bewildering in a bad way, just in a "what the fuck is going on?" way. Part 2 is pretty astounding so far. Is there any good writing/reviews about it online i can check out?

Also is there somewhere online to read old 2000ADs? I remember being really into one story when i was a kid that was about... actually i can't really remember at all what it was about, other than it was some dude in a crazy mask out for vengeance, with a little submachine gun he referred to as a "snubby". Anyone remember this?

That warrior torrent is great! brilliant articles and letters as well as long forgotten scripts. Plus 'V' in its original B+W...

Prompted me to get all the miracleman books... I hadn't read them since '94 or so. Its an absolute travesty that they aren't in print and it was never finished properly. Fuck Todd McFarlane and Fuck Marvel!

i just read Art Spiegelman's BREAKDOWNS! for the first time in the recent lavish reissue; the introduction is perhaps as long as the collected works that it is prefacing. Really decentering, disorienting, heart-rending, and weird.
