Re grime@FWD>>, I was there for Karnage on Friday and it just doesn't go down as well there now, mostly because the crowd is pretty fashion/studenty, or at least was on that night. To put it this way, Appleblim got twice the crowd as Karnage and twice the reaction, despite the fact he plays it half as hard.

Oh and I'm not going to lie, the Bristol takeover was my idea. Bristol killed it in 07, so I suggested it so those boys get their props.

and @boomnoise, i think it was harder than you might think for a weekly club like FWD>> to deal with the fact that in 07 all the club's regulars got booking agents and booked themselves up in lucrative international dates three months in advance. Things are changing though, as these lineups suggest.

I just dont know
i feel to go to all of them! its been so long since i even felt to go to any of them! so sick. if they keep it up something like this could reinvigorate the scene, it needs a proper and regular hub again. Pinch is starting a monthly in Bristol specifically for local talent too

dunno man, they've had maximum and karnage the last two weeks.. obviously they should be much more regular but at least it's a start!

it's weird cos after the 7th birthday bash calamity bare people were ready to give fwd/ammunition massive amounts of air pie i think... but now they've started going bonkers with all these exciting, experimental line-ups.

fair play i guess.

You are right really, I should just accept it is a dubstep night now, with an occasional smattering of grime. Can't complain really with these line-ups, they are alot! I wonder how the Ammuntion camp reckon the Funky excursions went down...

the last lineup for fwd at the end was equally amazing if not better, but still totally vibeless... the end is so wrong for this music

sadly true.

yeah it would be so good if FWD keeps up this experimental tip... i mean as the standard-bearer for dubstep nights it feels really important that it stays fresh. Cos there was definitely a feeling of stagnation for a while there. (havin said that i still had some SICK nights at FWD in 07!)

FWD are killing at the moment imo, there was a pretty boring period, but now i want to go every week! If they just got a bit more Grime in there.... or if if they had a 'Grime Takeover' night every six weeks or so like the Bristol Takeover (which is planned for every two months i read) Anyone know about Crises?

My stars, that's a lot.
Whenever I've been in LDN it's always been frustrating to me that FWD is on every Friday, yet I only ever seem to actually want to go once a month at most. Those line ups are really good.

i'm baffled. these line ups don't look drastically different to me. Youngsta, Benga, Skream, Kode9, headhunter, pinch.... these people are always on!

Hmm...is it worth me even going you think? Cos I would like to see BBK, Rekless, Spyro (as well as a few of the more obvious candidates), but can't be bothered if it's soulless. Guess the End suits banging dance much a bit more.

Dunno if I'll go to this, didn't go last year and the year before was not that good imo. As UFO says, totally soulless

are there actyually any good larger clubs in London? the end is obviously poo and i made my first trip to fabric a fortnight ago and was seriously unimpressed, but then again i havent enjoyed larger clubs for a while. I'm looking forward to the paradise factory opening with kode 9 and skream on 26th though.

who's coming to the awards tonight? it should be jokes

I'm on first, which is really early :D

looking forward to your set martin! (can I put in an early request for dis/east please?)

haha, you can but tbh it's unlikely. few other things higher up the 'now, i really must play this' list...
Nice set, was really feeling it, esp the second half. Shame the system didn't really do it justice. I guess I lose any Dissensus-cred for going downstairs to bounce around to Cockney Thug immediately afterwards, though...

Oh, and Kode 9 was fantastic, as expected.

anyone reach FWD? Kode9 was next level, some of that stuff was madness, so psychedelic. the tune that i imagine is by him which sounds very much like the result of listening to loads of flying lotus and such and playing 2step sets all over London was ridiculous sickness, the second drop was an outrage. Martyn played a stunning set too, so varied, a complete pleasure throughout the 2 hours. second drop on All I Have Is Memories was the one for me. and what a way to finish the night with At Les ringing in my memory. a very deep evening all in all! fwd killing it
