I dunno, there's something about Gods Gift that I don't like, perhaps his patter is too reminiscent of that 2-step style of mcing and he always seems to be trying a bit too hard to keep up these days. And the stuff about the ‘pow’ lyric makes him look ridiculous.

from his appearances on the aim high and risky roads dvd, it looks like god's gift could be really losing it- in the interviews he doesn't really seem to have a clue what's going on. and getting drunk in the day on neat spirits, as he does in the aim high interview, is never a good sign.
i hope he gets it together again.
his MCing on the 'street beats' cd, with slimzee, is some of the best grime MCing on record.

Some surprises in the answers so far - doesn't look as though Sharkie Major or Flo Dan are getting enough love around here, and the complete absence of Lady Sovereign is mystifying....

Btw, is this the week grime (or at least its artists) went overground, with Kano and Lady Sov both on the big music channels (Kiss or MTV, can't remember) within the same hour?

i've see typical me on both kiss and mtv base. lady soveriegn isn't part of the grime scene as far as i know.

Ah, OK - I'm sure you know a lot better than I do on this - I just presumed she was on the pirates before getting signed. Resentment amongst who in particular, out of interest? Didn't she do a track with Riko recently or something (or at least was supposed to)?

resentment amongst the whole of east london really, heh! i've not heard a good word for her outside of the internet to be honest. i don't resent her but there is something a bit iffy there.
