OK, a quick FB chat with Murdz confirms that this is definitely House Girls part 2 - Mad One. So there you go, probably never coming out though.

Also, Murdz has a new mix cd to download, with Ill Blu hosting! I'll post the link tomorrow.

really reminds me of this

Funkystepz in general sound a lot like this era (2001-2002)of poppy-yet-tuff garage, Wideboys, Sovereign, Sunship, Dubaholics etc. The same sort of restlessly itchy drums and basslines and plucked strings. Funkystepz seem to be drawing from similar sources as a lot of this newer UKB stuff, as well as Bassline having a direct influence obviously. I like it...

too many sets not enough time

i caught some of the marcus show this week, think it was just with shantie. some really good instrumentals. i dont even know whos making this new sort of stuff that hes playing (is it all from london?) or if its even funky or some new pan-funky thing hes doing, but hey, it sounded tough. if a little too well produced at times.

whats that 'make you feel nice' song? quite into that. wish more funky vocals were like that. altho it is basically like old rave. listening to the marcus 25th may set now. also feeling the remix of adeles in the deep to my surprise. wish there were more remixes of pop songs/R&B songs in funky. actually this whole show is full of top drawer vocals. really good selection.

And yeah, you guys are right, the MJ remix does distort in a few places. Sorry for not spotting that, basically I have dodgy ears (music-wise) and never notice these things unless people point them out to me or unless they're really, painfully obviously bad.
