we talked on here before about him and winehouse being the last iteration of the live fast die young rock musician lineage. the guitar music world is so straight laced now. no-one like that has come since. but also that whole idea of that as an aspirational good life is a thing of the past now. i don't think it can survive with cameras everywhere it can only be made attractive as a myth. it's all got very clean and healthy.

I think that stuff has transferred (at least in the mainstream) to rappers now. Face tattoos and Xanax addiction. Nihilistic lyrics.
