Try tossing it with a bit of smoked paprika and ground cumin before you roast it...Yeah, the raw squash is pretty hard so I roasted it (cubed, olive oil, salt, vinegar) for about 30 mins at 180C.

Does anyone have a good hummous recipe? I know it's easy, but I want mine to taste like the shop bought stuff, and it never does.
In my experience not worth even trying. Sainsbury's hummus is probably the best I've ever eaten
Phew thought it was just me. I get through potloads of it, it's ridiculous, and then when I make it it tastes like garlic sick.
On an unrelated note, new Hobnob Medley cereal chocolate bars are amazing.
Black pudding and kiwi salsa sounds nuts. Might have to try that... Yeah, the sainsbury's lemon and coriander hummous is amazing. Tried the tesco stuff recently and I had to chuck it away, waterly gloopy nonsense.
Just had a delicious and easy meal of roast pepper stuffed with peas pilau. Put some coconut cream in with the rice. Not quite as exciting as some of the stuff mentioned upthread.
supermarket hummus is basically just mayonnaise, innit?
hummus is so quick and easy to make tho and it blatantly does taste better than the supermarket stuff. big glug of olive oil in a blender, add tin of chick peas, some cubes of garlic, couple of heaped tablespoons of tahini (almost as much tahini as chick peas), salt, lots of black pepper, juice of 2 lemons, pinch of cumin, pinch of chilli powder, pinch of paprika, bit of yoghurt and a bit of water (water is key otherwise it'll be too dry and chalky).
