gives the 6 batsman option. could be utilised if theyre going to drop broad and flintoff also goes so you bring in the bowler and the batsman to replace two "all-rounders"
I guess maybe they'll rest Fred for a game and maybe drop Broad and bring in Sidebottom and Harmy giving both swing and bounce options...
1/ 1-1, with the weather taking 1 and the other 2 decided by the lack of quality in both bowling attacks

surely the ashes would still be on it's current cycle though wouldn't it? they'd have to retain certain bilateral series.
it's all very interesting, and quite exciting. although knockout semi finals, uh? but that would mean only one round? and what about draws?
and eight teams... bye bye bangla?
No Flintoff. A shame, but he was clearly unfit at Edgbaston (and Lords, but whatever)...
So, who should come in? If we only bring in a bowler, I'd go for Harmison, for variety's sake. We've got enough swing already, so no real need for another swing bowler (Sidebottom). Agnew on Today was suggesting that Trott might come in, and we'd go with 4 bowlers plus Colingwood/ Bopara/ Trott chipping in with 12-16 overs between them...
aus team has clark in hauritz
ENGLAND BAT!
